Wrinkle Reduction Treatment

Whenever we laugh, frown, concentrate or squint, our facial muscles contract, causing wrinkles and lines to form. Over time repeated movement of the facial skin by the forehead muscles forms lines between the eyebrows. Lines can also form on either side of the nose causing bunny lines. Lines can also form around the outer corner of the eye causing Crows Feet. Droopy mouth can also develop as skin loses it elasticity.

How do facial lines form?

Facial lines are “dynamic”; they happen because of the way a person’s face moves. Facial movements create frown lines, droopy mouth or Crows Feet or Bunny Lines. These may develop in even younger adults. They may make us look angry, worried, or sad even when we are not.

How do anti-wrinkle injectables work?

Anti wrinkle injectables block the nerve impulses that cause these facial muscles to contract.
An appropriate number of units of the injectable are injected into the specific muscles responsible for causing the wrinkles and lines between the eyebrows allowing these muscles to relax. Once the muscles are relaxed, the overlying wrinkles soften or reduce.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers are a form of injectable gel that is used to reshape, contour and revolumise the face. When injected into the skin this creates a fuller, more plump look. Dermal Fillers can be used in most areas of the face, most commonly lips, cheeks and chins.

Face Therapies

Facial Capillaries Treatment

Facial and nasal capillaries are common conditions experienced by many people. This condition is more common in lighter skin types, and can occur with long-term sun exposure. This condition is successfully treated with modern laser and IPL technologies.

Acne Treatment

Nearly everyone suffers from a pimple outbreak at some point in life. But some will have a more persistent outbreak than others.

Greasy secretions from the skin‘s sebaceous glands plug the tiny openings for hair follicles. If the openings are large, the clogs take the form of blackheads: small, flat spots with dark centres. If the openings stay small, the clogs take the form of whiteheads: small, flesh-coloured bumps.

Both types of plugged pores can develop into swollen, tender inflammations or pimples or deeper lumps or nodules. Nodules associated with severe cases are firm swellings below the skin’s surface that become inflamed, tender, and sometimes infected.

Acne remains largely a curse of adolescence Acne lesions and is most common on the face, but they can also occur on the neck, chest, back, shoulders, and upper arms.

Acne isn’t caused by poor hygiene or harmful diet although diet is important in the management of the condition, discuss with one of our doctors.

Whatever acne you might have and whatever problems you might experience we can help you. Call us and make an appointment with one of our doctors who will assess your skin type and recommend a treatment plan.

When treating Acne we use light and radio frequency energies to target the sebaceous glands in the skin.

How does the treatment work?

Light targets bacteria in the sebaceous glands, reducing the inflammation within the glands.

Radio frequency energy has the thermal drying effect in the sebaceous glands causing them to secrete less sebum.

Radio frequency also offers the unique advantage of improving the texture of the skin.

Laser Skin Resurfacing treatments and Laser Peels are highly recommended for the treatment of acne scarring.

Skin Rejuvenation

This treatment option is recommended for pigmentation, vascular lesions, freckles, age spots, and sun damage.

The Laser Skin Rejuvenation Treatment is used to treat benign pigmented and vascular lesions, as well as mild textural lesions.

How does the treatment work?

In this technology the light energy is converted to thermal energy raising the temperature of the target tissue.
RF energy is attracted to the heated targets, raising their temperature to the level required for effective treatment of pigmented and vascular lesions.

Heating of the upper dermis causes collagen remodeling, leading to overall improved skin texture.
Several treatment modalities are available to treat Melasma and other pigmented lesions.

Our doctors examine pigmented lesions prior to any treatment protocol.

Non-Surgical Skin Tightening

A loss of collagen and elastin in the dermis creates lines, wrinkles and sagging skin.

How does the treatment work?

The ReFirme procedure is a combination of infrared light and radio frequency energies to provide bulk deep dermal heating, up to 4mm in depth.

There is immediate contraction of existing collagen fibers.

Collagen remodeling follows this, which occurs gradually, leading to improvement in sagging skin in the jowls, neck and cheeks.

Laser Peels

Laser Peels are an effective way to treat wrinkles while significantly improving deeper more dynamic wrinkles.

How does the treatment work?

The laser beam gently vaporizes the more superficial layer of skin. The laser thermally affects the deeper skin layers to stimulate the production of new collagen in the dermis, for smoother, tighter, healthy-looking skin.

Laser peels will also remove age spots and various ageing-related skin lesions, as well as affect the tone of your skin, giving you a natural and rejuvenated look.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion gently removes dead skin cells from the skin revealing younger, fresher looking skin while at the same time unclogging pores and stimulating new cell growth.

The DermaSound Elite is an ultrasonic clinical skin treatment system that uses low frequency sound waves in a unique and highly effective way.

What are the treatment benefits?

This treatment provides superior exfoliation that intensifies and enhances the peeling action of chemical solutions. This non-invasive clinical treatment improves all skin conditions including wrinkles, acne, rosacea and pigmentation through cavitation, sonophoresis and microcurrent. Suitable for all skin types.

DermaView

The DermaView facial Skin Analyzer allows us to view your face using harmless black light, which can show clogged pores, ageing, oily, dehydrated, sun-damaged, thick or sensitive skin.

Dermasound

DermaSound helps stimulate and promote collagen and elastin production for more youthful skin. It also helps hydration. Plumping of the skin fills out fine lines and wrinkles, ultrasound vibrations helps to break up deposits of oil, dirt and dead cells – a breeding ground for bacteria.

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels can improve the skin’s appearance. They can be performed on the face, neck or hands.

The process can be used for the following:

This technique can also correct some pigmentation problems and help reduce scarring caused by acne, trauma or burns. Laser light is used to regenerate the cells, removing a thin layer to reveal the fresh layer beneath.

SR Laser for Vascular Lesions

Skin pigmentation disorders affect the color of skin. Skin gets its color from a pigment called melanin. Special cells in the skin make melanin. When these cells become damaged or unhealthy, it affects melanin production. Excessive skin pigmentation may have a number of causes such as UV exposure, hormones, skin trauma, and congenital existing from birth.

Melasma is a type of skin pigmentation. It is a chronic skin disorder that results in symmetrical, blotchy, brownish facial pigmentation. It can lead to considerable embarrassment & distress.

There are several modalities used to treat skin pigmentation. The modalities vary depending on the presentation.

Reduce facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin pigmentation so the skin appears brighter, smoother, younger-looking skin back.
  • Laser skin pigmentation therapy
Laser skin treatments are used to reduce the appearance of pigmentation for an overall clearer skin complexion.
  • Especially compounded creams therapy
Specially compounded creams for pigmentation are also used in conjunction with the other modalities to maximize the outcome.

Laser Treatment for Vascular Lesions

Laser treatment for vascular lesions with other modalities such as chemical peels & compounding creams are used for, quick and effective non-surgical procedure for the removal of

  • Thread veins (spider or broken veins)
  • Rosacea
  • Facial flushing
  • Spider naevi
  • Cherry angiomas/Campbell de Morgan spots

The procedure takes about 30 minutes, and does not need any anaesthetic.

How does laser treatment for vascular lesions work?

Short pulses of visible light are used on the vascular lesion this then raises the temperature in the area of concentrated hemoglobin. The vessel walls become damaged & break down. The damaged blood vessels are then absorbed by the body, making the vessels less visible & disappear.
